Cookie policy

Which cookies and browser storage the website and the software use, what for, and how to manage them.

Version of 14 October 2026 (draft)

Draft: still to be reviewed by a lawyer.

This page describes the cookies and similar techniques on the Boekhouding website and in the software. Which storage is used depends on what you do: reading a page is different from signing in or sending the contact form.

What are cookies and browser storage?

Cookies are small files your browser stores and sends along with later requests to the website. LocalStorage stays in your browser until you or the website remove the data. SessionStorage belongs to a single tab and disappears when you close it.

Storage needed to run the website

The storage below is needed for the feature listed with it. We do not ask permission for it. A secure cookie may have a prefix such as __Secure- or __Host-.

Storage needed to run the website
NamePurposeRetention
next-auth.session-token (cookie)Keeps you signed in. The cookie is HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it.30 days by default; the period is renewed while you use the site. Signing out ends the session.
next-auth.csrf-token and next-auth.callback-url (cookies)Protect the sign-in and remember which page you return to afterwards.Until you close the browser.
next-auth.state, next-auth.pkce.code_verifier and next-auth.nonce (cookies, only when signing in through an external sign-in provider)Check the return from the sign-in provider and help prevent misuse of the sign-in.Removed after signing in; otherwise they expire after 15 minutes at most.
administratie (cookie)Remembers which administration you opened last, so you continue there after signing in. The cookie is HttpOnly.1 year.
dcb_analytics_consent_v1 (localStorage)Remembers whether you allow or decline visitor statistics.180 days.
theme (localStorage, only when you choose an appearance)Remembers your preference for a light or dark appearance.Until you change the preference or clear the website data.

Visitor statistics, only with your permission

If you give permission, we measure page visits and the sending of the contact form with the analytics service PostHog. For this we keep a random code in the sessionStorage of your tab (dcb_analytics_tab_v1), until you close the tab or withdraw your permission. We send only a fixed page type, without the full address of the page, without form contents and without data from your account or administration. We make no screen recordings and build no profile of you. Pages behind the sign-in are not measured.

You can change your choice at any time:

The contact form

The contact form loads Cloudflare Turnstile to recognise automated submissions. Cloudflare receives technical request data for this and may use storage of its own for the check. When you send the form, the referring website, the page you arrived on and any campaign tags in the link are sent along with your message.

Payment page and external sign-in provider

If you go to the payment provider's payment page or sign in through an external sign-in provider, that service may set its own cookies on its own pages. That service's policy applies there.

Managing cookies and website data

You can delete or block cookies and website data in your browser settings. This may sign you out or remove a preference. It does not delete your account or your administration.
